The Office is back!  The Office is back!  The Office is back!

All is right with the world.  And, I saw a guy throw a sandwich in a mail drop box this morning, so that was kind of cool.  It was a bacon, egg and cheese.

Which, conveniently enough, segues nicely into food.  For a “snack” today, I ate leftover frittata:

Even I am having trouble calling this one a snack.  I think it probably falls into the fourth meal category.  I was hungry.

For lunch, I had some more of that Trader Joe’s black bean soup:

And some Sun Chips:

I have been posting my lunch because I used to have smoothies almost every day and now it is too cold for that kind of thing, so I’ve been switching it up a little bit.  But, I am not going to do this on a regular basis.  Mostly because I am boring and I still eat the same thing a few times a week, but also because I’d rather not post every single thing.

Anyway.  Dinner was soba noodles with peanut sauce and broccoli, tofu, eggplant and mushrooms:

I threw some basil in there, too, because it was going to go bad if I didn’t use it for something.  It was an interesting little twist.

Now I’m going to sit back with a glass of wine and squeal over Pam and Jim’s love.

Not enough time

All day, I’ve been about two hours behind.  I don’t know if it’s because I’m slow, or because there is too much to do, but I am not having a productive day.  Jack is actually sitting next to the couch tapping his watch because he knows he’s supposed to be on his afternoon walk right now.

I did make time for a piece of this salt water taffy that Chris’s mom brought us last night:

Wait, Wings?  I just noticed that.  I think I remember Wings from senior week.  Is anyone familiar with Myrtle Beach?  Isn’t this one of those places where you can get your belly button pierced and buy one of these awesome personalized shirts, all in one transaction?

I’m pretty sure it is.  Whatever, they make some damn good taffy.  I also had a few Sun Chips:

Times two, I’d say.  Good thing Chris doesn’t pack a lunch on Fridays!

It was an emergency

I was forced to grab a handful of Sun Chips as soon as I walked in the door from work this afternoon:

The alternative was waiting ten minutes for my lunch to be ready, and I just couldn’t do it.  It was physically impossible, in fact.

And then for my real snack this afternoon, because Sun Chips are not, in case you didn’t know, a real snack, I had some raisins and walnuts:

I am all about these big raisins.  They are awesome.

Sorry, Chris!

However, you’ll note that this is not a complete chip.  It is a mere fragment.  Everyone knows that chip, cookie, and cracker fragments do not count as food, nor do they have calories.  It’s totally some kind of weird rule of science or something, and it is one of the reasons why, whenever I reach into a bag of chips, I always – always – go for the broken pieces.

The other reason is that Chris is less apt to notice that I’ve been swiping his snacks if I stick to the crumbly bits.

I also had to eat all of these strawberries because they were dangerously close to going bad:

I saved them.  I’m nice like that.

Tonight for dinner I made a take on this goat cheese zucchini pasta by adding shrimp:

Much better with shrimp, I have to say.  I’m not sure what isn’t better with shrimp actually.  The last time I made it, it was a little too much with all the cheese, but the shrimp balanced it out a little better.  If you like goat cheese, you should definitely try this.  It’s like fettucini alfredo.  Except it won’t kill you, which kind of makes it better. I think it would be good with broccoli and sun dried tomatoes and the possibilities are endless, really.

Before dinner I accidentally had a handful of Sun Chips.  No photo, sorry.  I was going to go back and do a little reenactment, but I was scared I’d eat that handful, too.  Damn those chips.

I’ll probably have an ice cream sandwich in a few minutes.  As for the rest of the night, I’ll be working on keeping my fingers out of the jam.  I am pretty sure it cast some sort of weird spell over me.

I’m sure no one’s noticed, because I’m so cleverly hiding it, but I am getting sick of coming up with titles for these things.

Afternoon snack:

After I took this I put a little plain yogurt on top, because I didn’t think strawberries by themselves would fill me up.  And a little honey.  I don’t have a reason for that.

And then later:

I had a stressful moment this afternoon.

And for dinner, I had zucchini, tomatoes, basil, mushrooms, cucumbers, balsamic, goat cheese and a little leftover pesto, all mixed up:

It doesn’t look good, but it tasted good.
