The Office is back!  The Office is back!  The Office is back!

All is right with the world.  And, I saw a guy throw a sandwich in a mail drop box this morning, so that was kind of cool.  It was a bacon, egg and cheese.

Which, conveniently enough, segues nicely into food.  For a “snack” today, I ate leftover frittata:

Even I am having trouble calling this one a snack.  I think it probably falls into the fourth meal category.  I was hungry.

For lunch, I had some more of that Trader Joe’s black bean soup:

And some Sun Chips:

I have been posting my lunch because I used to have smoothies almost every day and now it is too cold for that kind of thing, so I’ve been switching it up a little bit.  But, I am not going to do this on a regular basis.  Mostly because I am boring and I still eat the same thing a few times a week, but also because I’d rather not post every single thing.

Anyway.  Dinner was soba noodles with peanut sauce and broccoli, tofu, eggplant and mushrooms:

I threw some basil in there, too, because it was going to go bad if I didn’t use it for something.  It was an interesting little twist.

Now I’m going to sit back with a glass of wine and squeal over Pam and Jim’s love.

I have about 42 of Heidi Swanson’s recipes bookmarked, but for some reason I always forget about them when I’m trying to figure out something to cook.  Tonight, I finally made her Garlic Soba Noodles and it was SO. GOOD.

But the best part wasn’t the soba noodles.  It was the tofu.  I usually just make bread crumbs out of bread or crackers or any other crumbly thing I can get my hands on, but this time I bought some Italian-flavored panko bread crumbs.  I did this mostly because I was feeling too lazy to make my own, and these were the only ones I could find that didn’t have some kind of trans-fat-high-fructose-poison combination in the ingredient list.  These bread crumbs were really good.  Maybe I just have a thing for bread crumbs.  Actually, I do have a thing for bread crumbs.  I used to eat them out of the canister with a spoon when I was a kid (remember that, mom?  Why’d you let me do that?). They totally made this meal.  I added some parmesan cheese like Heidi said, and dipped in some egg whites, and done!

Afterward, I had some chocolate ice cream:

It’s a tiny bowl, but I packed that sucker.

Long day

Last night the gallery crawl turned into a “let’s find the ones with the best open bar” crawl, and we ended the night at a diner.  I had a bowl of chocolate ice cream and a couple of my friend’s fries.  I thought that was pretty good, considering the state I was in.  Sorry, no pictures.  Again, let’s consider the state I was in.

Today I ran a bunch of errands, normal Saturday stuff.  I made Chris these potatoes for lunch because he was dealing with a crisis:

The crisis, of course, was that his Sun Chip stash had run dry.  Anyway, I stole a couple to have before I made myself a smoothie.  They were really good.

Then later we watched There Will Be Blood because we are having a rather heavy rain storm.  I ate some yogurt with fig jam and pretzels:

And a fig.  You know, for garnish.  I had a couple more pretzels after this too, and a small bite of Chris’s Z Bar.  And two strawberries.  Yikes.  Snacky McSnackerson.

Which brings us to dinner.  I made this recipe, but added some soy sauce, mung bean sprouts, shitake mushrooms, tofu and scallions:

I highly recommend it.

Now I have to harness my energy to go out again and celebrate a birthday.  I already fell asleep during the movie, so I think I’m in trouble.
