Give and take

I was hungry today!  I love days like this because it means I can eat more and I clearly really enjoy eating.

Anyway, this afternoon I had two of the peaches my mom gave me.  Here’s one:

These are the best peaches I’ve ever had.  Thank  you mom, you have changed my life.  Seriously.  They are so ripe.  It was heavenly, which is why I had two.

And then, because fruit just makes me hungrier, I had a cucumber, also courtesy of my mom, with some goat cheese:

The goat cheese was all mine.  We almost always have cheese.

For dinner I went to Spring Street Natural, one of my favorite restaurants, with Kate and Betsy.  I had lentil salad and a glass of red wine.  Inspired by their healthy eating habits, I got my salad dressing on the side, and I didn’t even need it.  I’m thinking there might be something to that little trick.

And then it must have been my lucky day because on the way home I randomly found this in my purse:

So I ate it.  You know, because I got the dressing on the side.

That’s what’s going on outside today.  Warm and sunny would be too much, of course.  But at least it’s not raining.  Yet.  Jack has his fingers (paws?) crossed, because he knows that I’m not a fan of wet walks.

Anyway, I am nearly out of coffee since I haven’t been drinking it that much, but I scraped together a few grounds to make a cup this morning because I really wanted one:

That’s skim milk in there, per usual.

I also photographed my lunch today.  I made that fake chicken salad with apples, celery, onions and curry powder again, and used plain yogurt as the binder today.  Just as good, and much healthier than mayonnaise, even though we use the canola mayonnaise that’s not bad for you.  Here’s my sandwich, with some cucumbers and hummus:

The photo is a little awkward, but this is the kind of sandwich that you can’t put down once you pick it up.  Way too messy.

Okay, back to work!  Tomorrow marks my return to jury duty (blah!), so I have a lot of work to do before.

Fiber

That’s what I had for a snack this afternoon. Pure fiber.  No, it isn’t, but it might as well have been.  I had hummus (aka beans), broccoli, cucumber, and a pear:

I’m a little nervous, because for dinner we’re having stir fry with more broccoli, bok choy, tofu, and brown rice.  I’m not sure if my stomach can handle it!  I’m going to try to make up a new sauce recipe…if it turns out good, I’ll post it!

Thanks for the camera tips!  Now I just have to learn how to take a decent picture…
