Sorry for the slacking yesterday…I had a bunch of work to do and then went to Kate’s birthday party and I just ran out of time.
So, here we go. Yesterday afternoon I was freezing and I randomly found this little packet of hot chocolate in the cabinet:
So that settled the great afternoon snack debate:
I made it with milk so it was least a little filling. Protein and all that. Plus hot chocolate is way better with milk, I think we can all agree.
Then we had this for dinner, except I didn’t really even follow my own recipe and I used quinoa instead of couscous:
Red quinoa. See:
There is tofu in there too. But you can’t see it.
Then we went to Kate’s party and drank some wine and ate some cake. One of the girls who reads her blog, Jaclyn, came to the party and made her this awesome cake. It was very intricate and took her like two days to make. Wasn’t that nice of her? I thought so. Very kind. All I’m saying is that I’ve never gotten any cake or even, you know, cookies or brownies from any of my readers, and I know there are at least five or ten of you out there, so you better hop to it. I’m happy to provide my address. I like chocolate.

Gorrrrgeous dishes!!!
So glad that you had fun at Kate’s birthday party!!
That cocoa looks so darn good!
I read your blog too!
If you profess a love for a certain type of baked good (ie food that looks like other food), I am happy to oblige.
We should all get together soon, and I’ll supply the dessert
That quinoa dish looks really good!
I also don’t bake…
Woman, you KNOW I’d send you anything you’re little heart desired!! And if it makes you feel any better, if I saw you in a public place, I’d TOTALLY run up and make you feel famous
Just cuz I lerve you that much
Jaclyn is a queen among women.

Thanks!

It was. Made me feel like a kid.
Jaclyn! I wanted to say that it was an amazing hamburger cake, but I didn’t want to spoil the surprise for Kate’s blog. But people should know about your genius, so if anyone is reading this and hasn’t seen the awesome cake, check it out. Also, we should definitely get together and eat dessert

Thank you, I appreciate it.

She is.
If I didn’t think anything I baked/cooked would kill you, I’d totally ship something your way! But I don’t want to get arrested for like involuntary manslaughter or some other ugly-sounding crime. Be thankful, haha.
I’m jealous of all you bloggers getting together, eating, kickin’ it and just having a good time. I happen to have moved to a kinda isolated town in the middle of nowhere. Boo hoo! All the Texas food bloggers live in Dallas or Austin.
Did I just have a mini pity party in the comments section of your blog?!
I’d love to send you some bread!
everything looks great as always.
