These weekend snack round ups are a little daunting. Also, some of these pictures are terrible because I used my Blackberry. The others are terrible because I have no photography skills.
Iced coffee on Friday afternoon:
The raisins I’ve been eating all weekend:
Saturday we went to the beach and brought pretzels, vegan jerky, and strawberries:
I didn’t eat many of the strawberries, which are apparently not so good when they are piping hot from the sun. But I made up for it with a Carvelanche. I forgot to take a picture though. I’m pretty mad about this because it was HUGE and awesome and I could only eat half and I’m not sure that’s ever happened to me before. It should have been documented.
For dinner Saturday night, we had shrimp tacos:
Those are potatoes on the side. I overcooked them slightly because for his dinner, Jack decided to eat my phone:
This occured while the potatoes were in the oven and as you can imagine, it was a bit of a distraction.
For some reason, I was still hungry after this dinner, so I had a Z Bar:
Sunday, I did all kinds of fun things like clean the apartment and take the laundry and walk around in the rain. There was a free Ting Tings concert in Greenpoint that my friend wanted to go to, despite predictions of intense rain showers and hail. Luckily, there was no hail, but the rain was awesome.
When I got home, I had a little peanut butter and a peach:
These aren’t quite as good, but they’ll do for now.
We had a boring dinner, but there was wine:
And that’s that.

Those raisins look like little jewels!!
Yikes, Jack really bit that phone, haha – ah well, he’s too cute to be TOO mad at him ;0)
My dog eats underpants.
I’d like the recipe for shrimp tacos please.
Oh my God, the word Carvelanche just made my mouth water. Ice cream’s my favorite. I might just have to go try one!
)
I have never heard of a Carvelanche before reading this post, but it sounds divine. Yum.
And what exactly is vegan jerky made out of?
I wish I had the rest of my Carvelanche right now.
Those raisins look awesome. I’ve never seen a bag where it actually combines the different types together.
I want a Carvelanche…
Hey, never posted before, but I recently discovered your blog. (you crack me up) Anyways, those raisins do look good, and also I would be devastated if my Blackberry were “eaten” by my dogs, although I do not know how terribly upset I could be with them because they are adorable. Have a good week!
That Carvelanche sounds delicious. I want one right now.
i want some fish tacos.
mmmm….makes me want black bean tacos…esp the ones at wahoo’s fish tacos…

I was pretty mad. He’s not that cute

Jack does that too. I don’t really have a recipe, I just marinated the shrimp in some lime juice, olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and then used corn tortillas and made a little sauce out of plain yogurt, some cumin, salt, more lime juice, pepper, cayenne and chili powder. Then I cooked the corn, shrimp, and we put tomatoes, scallions, red onions, and avocado on them. It’s easy.

It was pretty awesome. Just like a blizzard but better. And bigger.

I hadn’t either. I actually don’t think I’d ever been to Carvel before. Vegan jerky is basically flavored seitan. The ingredients for the Primal Strips are: Non-GMO vital gluten (wheat protein), water, unrefined evaporated cane juice, naturally brewed soy sauce (water, non-GMO soybeans, wheat, sea salt), expeller pressed canola oil, peanut butter, vinegar, fresh Thai basil, sea salt, natural vegetarian spices. No MSG.

Me too.

I didn’t even know there were so many kinds.

Thanks! I was mad, but I actually just ordered a new phone because this one was broken anyway, so it was good timing. But I still have to use it for a week or so and there are definitely holes in it.
EBF –
That seems to be the consensus. We should organize an outing.
GC -
No Carvelanche?

I LOVE black bean tacos. I love tacos. I’ve never been to Wahoo’s.
Thank you Ari! I’m going to make that sometime this weekend! I’m so excited!
