For dinner we had pasta and zucchini again (I apparently am a bad planner) with sun dried tomatoes, parmesan cheese and mushrooms this time:
This meal was a minor accomplishment because I essentially cooked it in the dark. Our kitchen is fairly dim as it is, but the light bulb over the stove burnt out, which made things a little rocky.
Luckily, I am nothing if not resourceful:
Clearly, Chris thinks cooking by flashlight is funny. I thought his time would have been better spent buying light bulbs.
Earlier I had a couple of carrot sticks:
And I also had an ice cream sandwich and a glass of wine after dinner. It’s almost a holiday, after all.

That flash light is too funny! Thanks for the info about plain yogurt. Do you have a brand that you typically use? About how long did you take to adjust? I keep trying it periodically and finding it so tarte (I bought dannon)
good job cooking by flash light. almost like camping right? hahaha. your pasta looks even better today. mmm.
Hahaha cooking by flashlight? I love it. Heck I think I’d do that by choice just for the excitement factor. Well probably not. But it’s still a great idea in a pinch.
You need those caver lights that you can wear on your head, plenty of light and you have both your hands free….to change the light bulb…..
Hey! I love the resourcefulnes… if the belly says it’s time to eat, there’s no denying it! I love your site
I love seeded jam!
But making fun of you is way more fun than buying light bulbs.
Duh!
An ice cream sandwich AND a glass of wine?
You really know how to party.
Oh my gosh, you are making me laugh with your picture of cooking by flashlight. But you’re right– it IS resourceful (not to mention creative).
And pasta with zucchini sounds/looks perfect, so obviously your cooking method worked well ;o)
Robin –
I have Dannon right now, but I usually buy the Trader Joe’s kind. I think they taste the same, that’s just where I shop. It took me a little while, I guess…I would just mix stuff in. I think it’s still better for you because you can control the amount.
Cara –
It’s just like camping.
Kristie –
It did the job.
Rachel –
That’s exactly what I told Chris. It’s hard cooking with one arm.
Orange –
Thanks! Me too.
Chris –
Ha! Funny.
Crissy –
It’s true. I do. Tonight I might have TWO glasses. We’ll see what happens.
CCV –
Thanks! It turned out okay, considering I practically cooked it in a cave
that was me, obviously. not chris.
