As if I don’t talk about myself enough, I got tagged to write five things about myself by Cara and Jenny. They want to know more. Here is what I am to do:
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Share 5 facts about yourself.
3. Tag 5 people at the end of your post and list their names, linking to them.
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.
Okay. So. Here we go.
1. I really, really, really hate when my food touches on my plate. I use a different plate for everything. Which sucks because we don’t have a dishwasher. Unless you count Chris. Which, for the record, I do.
2. I am obsessed with cooking shows. My family may have been the last in the country to get cable television, so I watched the ones on PBS when I was little. I also used to get in my sandbox and make mud pies and “talk to my audience.”
3. I do not understand music and movies, which are things that everyone else likes and so this makes me weird. I always pick horribly stupid movies, and things like band names, song titles and lyrics just don’t stick with me.
4. I had a hamster when I was little, which I creatively named Hamy.
5. I am from West Virginia. Because of this, I am not so good at living in a city. For instance, I always forget to lock our apartment door when I am inside. Chris hates this. Also, sometimes he comes home and knocks just to see if I’ll ask who it is before I let him in. I consistently fail this test.

And now, on to the food. I had my salad last night, with a piece of the strange bread I had to buy at the grocery store because it was the only loaf that didn’t have HFCS:
It’s kind of good bread. Kind of not. I can’t decide. It’s called Healthy Delite, and apparently it’s “Made From the Old Country.” Or so the package says. I’m not quite sure what this means, but I fell for it. It sounds good, right? I also don’t know why it’s “lite.” It is 80 calories a slice, which is relatively standard in my experience.
This, however, was a HUGE slice, like three times the size of all the others, but like I said, the package clearly states that it is 80 calories a slice and someone from the Old Country cut this into one slice so it can’t possibly be more than 80 calories, am I right?
I also had this, which you may or may not think is weird:
Strawberry fruit spread and pretzels. I am on the verge of a strawberry fruit spread addiction. It is my new thing.

I didn’t have cable until I was 14. It’s okay though, because in Canada, we get all the American shows on our free Canadian channels… I guess we saved a lot of money!
Your salads always look so tasty. It makes my mouth water every time.
Fun facts!!
I’m definitely like you with #2, about the cooking shows – I think I need to join Food Network Fanatics Anonymous or something.
I can totally picture you in your sandbox with little piggy tails in your hair talking to your audience.
That is soooo adorable.
It makes me want to hug you.
Did that sound creepy?
Because I didn’t mean it that way.
You and your boy are adorable. I love it!
I thought your pretzel sticks were with chocolate at first and then my mouth watered. But then with the strawberry I am sure it would be good as well.
I hate when food touches on my plate as well! Unless it’s something liked mashed potatoes and corn which goes deliciously together, everything must be separate. Glad i’m not the only one!
One day a robber is gonna knock on our door and steal you because you’ll just let him in and then I’ll be sad.
But then I’ll probably marry Eva Mendes and make you sad.
You can marry the robber if you want.
I’m also obsessed with cooking shows and I didn’t have cable until really late as well
I remember watching Julia Child when I was really young on (I think?) PBS…
What salad dressing do you use?
sometimes i eat jam with a spoon. it completes my life.
i totally also used to watch the pbs cooking shows when i was a wee one, especially the frugal gourmet. or, i watched that show until it was discovered that he was a child pornographer or something like that.
LOL im cracking up about #5
now i want strawberry jam… never had it w/ pretzels before…
and i too, still watch the PBS cooking shows… my mom/grandmom are both obsessed
I want to touch you in the sandbox too.
What? What did I say?
i dont really get music either. i mean, i like to listen to it, but i hate the elitist music lovers that lay claim to the little unknown bands that are geniu,s but then get mad if they find out anyone else listens to them because they are “their’s” and they discovered them.
that might just be a seattle thing.
or this one friend i have.

originally from PGH here.
love the beauty of WVa!
Romina –
Yeah. I think my parents got cable when I went to college, actually. I was totally robbed of MTV as a child.
Penelope –
Well thank you. It’s just lettuce, mushrooms, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. Nothing fancy.
VG –
I can’t get enough.
Kristen –
I DID have pig tails! I was rather cute, I don’t blame you for wanting to hug me. It’s okay.
Cara –
Pretzels and chocolate is my love.
Lauren –
I can’t even stand mashed potatoes and corn. The worst is salad and spaghetti. That actually makes me want to die.
Chris –
I’m not sure I’d be good at a life of crime.
Magpie –
It was PBS. I was all about it.
DCfake –
It’s trader joe’s sesame ginger, but usually I just use a little balsamic vinegar and some honey.
Betsy –
He was? Yikes.
Lindz –
It’s good! A little strange maybe.
Kiala –
You, I don’t trust.
Kelly T -
I hate those people too. They suck.
MizFit –
Chris is from Pittsburgh too.
I HATE when my food touches on a plate. Each item needs to be completely separate from the other on my plate, but then I take a little of each onto my fork for each bite. I always get made fun of for this
And I used to have my own little cooking shows with water in my toy pots (yep, had a whole set) and lots of red food coloring, which always got everywhere and stained my parents’ beautiful living room carpet. whooops!
