Today was a loooong day…I am so tired and ready to get back to my normal routine tomorrow. I get to go to the gym in the morning, finally, and eat regular food instead of having, um, toast and Sun Chips for dinner like I did tonight.
We went out for brunch this morning with a big group, to a newish restaurant in our neighborhood called The Speakeasy. This place has something to do with Top Chef – Josie Smith-Malave, someone who was on the show but didn’t win, is either the owner or the chef. Or maybe she’s just a waitress, since she didn’t win. I don’t really know. Chris and I had never been there before but we had a lot of people and they had a lot of room, so it was a good match. Usually lots of room = bad sign, but this was pretty good. I had an egg white omelet and some home fries:
Also lots and lots of coffee. I gave Chris about half of the potatoes in exchange for a strawberry and a few bites of his French toast, which was pretty amazing.
Then we sat around with my brother and my sister-in-law until they had to go to the airport, took Jack for a walk, and I got some roasted vegetables from a sandwich shop because the omelet was small and I was pretty much hungry the moment I walked out of the restaurant:
Also had a bite of a chocolate chip cookie:
And a bunch of cashews and an apple at random points throughout the day that I didn’t photograph.

Yeah, I feel the same way – today WAS a long, busy day, and I’m ready for bed (except I have to finish a paper first, haha).
Have a good night!! :0)
i’m glad it’s bedtime…but i’m not glad it’s bedtime on sunday night.
i wish it was friday night. but ain’t that always the way??
i loved your dress, by the way…where is it from (cause i’m ready to head out the door with credit card in hand as soon as you tell me, as long as it’s in season). and yes, wedding season sure is coming up. i went to 7 last year. including 4 in a row in cleveland. the flight attendants at the continental terminal at laguardia knew me by name by the end of last june. why can’t people spread their weddings around??
Leaving a restaurant hungry is a sure sign that you didn’t go nuts with the food.
Good girl!
That’s why you looked so darn adorable in that dress of yours at the wedding.

I am glad my days of papers are behind me, but good luck with yours!

I know, there are too many weddings. What is up with people? Thank you – the dress is from a place in Fort Greene called Heart Beat and I’m pretty sure it was the only one they had…it’s a really cute store with super cheap clothes, though, you’d probably love it if you ever get to brooklyn…

Very true. Thank you, but that dress was also very forgiving and allowed me to eat lots of cake which was my favorite part.
