Dinner was SO GOOD. I went to Pipa, a tapas place, and shared a bunch of things: the calamari, manchego cheese, the vegetable coca, and the stuffed piquillos. Everything was pretty much amazing.
The only problem with tapas, of course, is that you never know how many to order and I always leave either way too full or a little bit hungry. By the time I got home last night, I was hungry again. Or maybe I wasn’t, I drank a lot of wine. In any case, Chris broke out the cereal, but I knew that if I had a bowl, there would be no turning back. In fact, after last time, I have resolved to never eat that cereal again. So for once in my life I used some common sense and had a Z Bar for a little portion control instead. I thought for sure I photographed it, but apparently I didn’t.
And then because that wasn’t enough chocolate, I proceeded to have some ice cream:
Did I mention the wine?
I did not feel like going to the gym this morning, but I dragged myself out the door. The first few minutes were a little rough (especially because, for some reason, the whole place smelled like a bacon egg and cheese. I think someone else had a long night, too) but after that I felt better. I actually think exercise is a good hangover cure. I must admit that this isn’t a theory I’ve tested too often, but I do believe it’s true.
After the gym, I took Jack on a walk and picked up a coffee, which was pretty much mandatory today:

I always find that eating a whole bunch of different foods leaves me unsatisfied. Your mind doesn’t really register that you are full because you want to try so many different things.
Don’t worry, you’re in better shape than some dude in my townhouse complex probably is right now. I woke up last night at like 1:30 a.m. to the sounds of someone vomiting outside my house (i had the window open), with a large group of guys cheering him on. Yay! Apparently someone enjoyed the mandatory happy hour action that warm weather brings a little too much
i’ve always wanted to try Pipa (i love tapas restaurants) but I was thrown off by the fact that it was in ABC Carpet. But, you’re review has renewed my interest. I think I’m going to Tia Pol next week…should be yummy!!!
i totally agree that exercise is a hangover cure. the first 10 minutes are brutal (and nauseating) but once i get over that, i’m pretty much good for the rest of the day.
Yeah, I’m not a fan of tapas – I’d rather just enjoy one, satisfying meal. But hey, the restaurant sounds great anyway! :0)
Glad you got through your workout – have a wonderful Friday!
is there ever a day coffee is not mandatory? =]
I totally agree about the working out hangover cure.
It’s nice here today too. I’m kind of freaking out about what to wear. The first warm day always messes with my wardrobe decisions and it feels weird to walk around without a protective coat layer on.
It makes me feel naked.
Romina –
That’s probably true. I actually usually like to eat a few different things, but maybe my mind doesn’t. If that makes sense.
Anne –
Hahaha…yes, I am. I haven’t done that in at least a year.
Betsy –
Yeah, I know, it’s a little weird, but it was really good. So good that I actually filled out a comment card and I’m pretty sure I used the word outstanding. Wine. I’ve always wanted to try Tia Pol!! Tell me how it is.
VeggieGirl –
Tapas are actually my favorite, but one meal has it’s pluses too, for sure.
Erika –
No. You’re absolutely right.
Kiala –
That is so true. All winter, I can’t find any clothes and I’m like, “If it were only warm outside, I’d have so many options.” And then the first day it’s warm, I have no options.
