I decided not to tempt fate by having three scary bacon sandwiches in a row, so I made a smoothie:
I love closing my eyes and pretending I’m having ice cream for lunch. Specifically, a Wendy’s frosty. I even eat it with a spoon, which I pretend is a French fry.
Also, I wanted to officially announce that I am now a fan of flax. I know I said it tastes fishy. That’s because it does. But you’re not supposed to eat it with a spoon straight out of the bag. You mix it into things, like yogurt, or sprinkle it on things, like this peanut butter and honey toast I had for breakfast this morning:
These two little pieces of bread kept me full this morning for like five hours. This coming from someone who is often ready for her next meal after two hours. Sometimes one.
So flax is a keeper. I’ve already figured out a way to incorporate it into dinner tonight. I know Chris will be quite pleased.

I’m about to blow your mind!
Arielle… I present to you…. THE BACON MAT:

Oh god, I just realized that you might be vegan or something… if so please forgive my posting a link to the MAT O’ DEATH on your blog, I just saw the word bacon sandwich and got all excited.
hahaha – that picture is pretty funny.
and dude, you know how i feel about New Things.
My God, that’s beautiful… it’s like the Holy Grail for Wisconsinians.
I used to eat my milkshakes with french fries too!! People always looked at me so strange, but now I know it is acceptable… or someone else is odd like me. Either way, I’m not alone!
I was a milkshake/fry person too!
Anyway, I cant wait to hear about how you added flax into dinner, I usually only add it to my oats!
Hmm, I’ve never thought flax tastes like fish. Maybe you’re convincing yourself that it does because of the Omega-3’s? You should try hemp seed! It has more omega-3’s and it tastes way better. =)

That is the weirdest thing. I particularly love the picture of the guy eating it. He is so on the verge of a heart attack. And I’m not vegan, it’s cool.
Chris –
You liked it! I know you did! I’m going to add it to your cereal when you’re not looking.

“Beautiful” wasn’t the first thing that came to my mind. All the weaving is quite intricate.
Chandra –
Not odd! Totally normal. Also, I don’t know if you know this, but McDonald’s hot fudge sundaes are also good with fries. Mmmm…I haven’t done this since college.
Lindz –
I just mixed it with the breading on the eggplant. It was kind of an easy dinner to try it with. But I think it might be good in pasta. Maybe. I’m going to experiment a little more.
Romina –
I think you might be right. It has a weird aftertaste. I also kind of took a big bite of it though, which I’m sure intensified the flavor unnecessarily. I didn’t know that about hemp seed. I’ll try it after I’m done with the gigantic bag of flax I bought. Thanks for the tip!!
